# Act on phone numbers, emails, and addresses from a call

## How do I use a phone number, email, or address from a call?

Tap the highlighted detail. HiFi highlights phone numbers, email addresses, street addresses, and other useful details in a call’s summary and transcript. When you tap a highlighted detail, a **Select an action** menu opens with the options that fit it.

1. On **Home**, tap the call in **Call Activity** to open **Call Details**.

2. In the **Call Summary** or the **Transcript**, tap a highlighted detail.

3. In **Select an action**, tap what you want to do.

You don’t need to copy and paste anything by hand.

## What actions can I choose?

The actions in **Select an action** depend on the kind of detail you tapped:

- **Phone number:**

    - **Call** calls the number from HiFi.

    - **Send message** starts a text to the number in HiFi.

    - **Copy** copies the number.

- **Email address:**

    - **Send email** opens your email app with the address filled in.

    - **Copy** copies the address.

- **Street address:**

    - **Open map** shows the address in your maps app.

    - **Copy** copies the address.

After you tap **Copy**, you can paste the detail anywhere, like a note or another app.

## Troubleshooting

- **A number, email, or address isn’t highlighted:** HiFi didn’t recognize it as a detail you can act on. Tap **Copy summary**, or open the **Transcript**, and copy the detail yourself.

- **Send message doesn’t appear or doesn’t work:** Text messaging requires a HiFi number. It isn’t available when you use only call forwarding. See “Turn on text messaging”.

- **Nothing happens when you tap Send email:** Your phone may not have an email app set up. Tap **Copy** and paste the address into the email app you use.
