Snooze call answering

What does Snooze do?

Snooze makes every call ring you first for a set amount of time. It starts as soon as you choose a duration. If you don’t answer a call, HiFi still picks up, tells the caller you’re unavailable, and offers to take a message. When the time is up, HiFi goes back to answering calls on its own.

Use Snooze when you’re expecting an important call and want to answer it yourself, without turning off call answering.

Turn on Snooze

  1. Tap the Snooze button at the top of Home.

  2. On the Snooze answering calls sheet, choose how long to snooze:

    • Snooze for 30 minutes

    • Snooze for 1 hour

    • Snooze for 4 hours

    • Snooze until end of day

The sheet reminds you: “Your phone will ring first while snoozed.”

How do I know Snooze is on?

HiFi shows Answering Calls is snoozed on Home while Snooze is active. The End now button shows how much time is left.

Calls that come in while you’re snoozed have a Snoozed tag in Call Activity. If you answered a snoozed call yourself, its Call Details says “No summary available since HiFi is snoozed.”

End Snooze early

  1. Tap the Snooze button at the top of Home.

  2. Tap End now.

HiFi goes back to answering calls based on your HiFi answers calls from setting.

If you don’t end it early, Snooze ends automatically when the time you chose runs out. You don’t need to remember to turn answering back on.

Should I snooze or turn off call answering?

Snooze is usually the better choice. With Snooze, HiFi still answers calls you miss, and answering turns back on by itself. If you turn off call answering in Account & settings, spam and scam calls aren’t screened until you turn it back on. See “Choose which calls HiFi answers”.
